Welcome, we're Barry and Suzye and we invite you to be our guest in our luxurious beachfront Bed & Breakfast. Join us in the celebration of our lifelong dream to live on a pristine beach in a beautiful tropical paradise.

Our Spanish style villa offers a peaceful and tranquil environment with the Pacific Ocean as our front yard. We have provided our guests with the same comfort and amenities found in a small luxury hotel. Enjoy freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee and a gourmet breakfast served daily on our veranda overlooking our beautiful swimming pool, wooded parkland and ocean.

Creative interiors from around the world offer a unique experience for the guests of Villa Alegre. Enjoy swimming, sunbathing, shuffleboard and horseshoes. Afterwards relax in our shaded rancho or in our spacious living room where a large library of books, games and CD's are available.

Villa Alegre is just a few short steps directly onto the sand and is bordered by a 1-acre parkland. In the mornings you are greeted by bird song and at night lulled by the sounds of the ocean. For surfing enthusiasts there are two world class breaks a short walk down the beach. Collect shells, go tide pooling, shoreline fish or stroll down to the San Francisco river mouth for a freshwater dip; simple pleasures abound.


1. An Overview of Tamarindo

Tamarindo is the most popular destination in Northern Costa Rica and with good reason. Plenty of Sunshine, lots Pristine Beaches and Nature abounds. Surf, Fish, Dive, Sunbathe, Collect Shells, any and all Beach Activities await you. And there are Canopy Tours, Horseback Riding, and other Nature & Adventure Tours & Activities. Or just kick back and relax while enjoying our tranquil atmosphere.

Close at hand are dozens of other fabulous beaches; to the south is Avellanas, Negra, Junquillal, Largarto, Marbella & San Juanillo, to the north Grande, Ventanas, Carbon, Bahia Piratas, Conchal & Flamingo to name only the most popular. The coastline in this zone is characterized by innumerable beaches, bays, points and coves, and most are virtually uninhabited! Beaches without footprints abound, a true beach combers delight and a Surfer’s Paradise!

To the immediate north and south of Tamarindo are the nesting beaches of the endangered leather turtle and two extensive estuary systems. These areas comprise the National Leatherback Marine Park which literally surrounds Tamarindo. These hugh reptiles are the largest of marine turtle species and can weigh an astounding 1,000 lbs. or more. Viewing these enormous creatures upon the beach during their nesting season, October though March, is truly and life long memory for a multitude of visitors every year.

Last but not least, are the culinary delights of over 40-restaurants which offer cuisine from around the world and an equal number of bars and nightclubs to keep you busy in the evening hours. There are small boutiques and shops galore for souvenirs, arts, crafts and many other items only to be found in Costa Rica.
And a brand new air conditioned disco, two casinos and other entertainment that will keep you on your toes.

We are on the Beach Front adjacent to 1-acre of Natural Parklands with a Spacious Swimming Pool, Secure Parking, Kitchen Facilities and we offer our clients Phone, Fax & Internet Service.

All rooms have Air Conditioning, a Private Patio, Safety Deposit Boxes and Non-Smoking Rooms are Available.

And we are Wheelchair Accessible. We also can accommodate Small Groups and provide Assistance with Tours and Travel Planning. Major Credit Cards are Accepted and Restaurants and Shopping are nearby.
