Sunset House is nestled in the foothills overlooking all of Tamarindo Bay and the Pacific Ocean, with the most spectacular views in Tamarindo. Sunset House is a fantastic vacation retreat to enjoy your Costa Rican experience to the fullest.

Sunset House is a exquisite 5,000 square foot villa designed by award-winning American architect, Steve Adams, and built by Jeff Hutton of Flor Del Pacifico Construction, one of Tamarindo's most renowned custom home builders. The villa boasts many natural materials native to Costa Rica; Spanish tile floors, hand painted murals by local artists, an open indoor/outdoor design and a tropical ambiance.

Located within walking distance of gorgeous white sand beaches and some of the best surf breaks in Costa Rica, the house is also the excellent spot for just relaxing and enjoying the breathtaking view. It is an especially ideal house for family vacations, and a nanny service is available upon request. The open-air living area has cushioned molded concrete sofas and handcrafted tropical hardwood furniture. The fully equipped kitchen includes a restaurant grade stainless steel range, dishwasher, BBQ grill. It's a terrific place to prepare your meals overlooking the ocean.

There are 5-spacious air conditioned bedrooms with lovely views of the Pacific Ocean and/or the Tamarindo Estuary: the master suite with its own bedroom and bathroom, living area with cable TV, desk/office area, adjoining small children’s room with bunk beds, and patio with spectacular ocean view. Three of the 4 remaining bedrooms each have a queen size bed, and the final one has a king sized bed.

The 3 1/2 large bathrooms have hot water, and there is a rock walled outdoor shower in the courtyard, as well as another outdoor shower on the deck near the pool.

The free form Mosaic tiled swimming pool, with an infinity edge is designed so that the pool appears as if it is spilling over into the Pacific Ocean. Surrounding the pool is a teak deck with hardwood lounge chairs, and a shady cushioned concrete seating area overlooking the pool and Tamarindo Bay. The pool area is equipped with wet-bar and mini-refrigerator.

Adjacent to the pool and patio is the bale daybed- pavilion, boasting the same gorgeous ocean views as the rest of the house, the ideal setting for midday siestas.

Below the pool and patio area, is the air-conditioned yoga/ meditation and massage room, with hardwood floors and Asian inspired design.

Daily maid and laundry service are included at no additional charge.

There is also an on-site caretaker who lives in a small house located behind the main house, and night guard.

My wife and I have been members of APMT for many years, on top of that we contribute to specific causes such as donations for improved police services, Tamarindo Beach clean ups, etc.

With a small group we shall develop a project named Plumeria within the El Tesoro Development and we are the first developers that have paid US $10.000 towards the Plan Regulador for the District of Tamarindo.

In addition we are also active in the "No Alta Densidad" (NAD), No High Density, campaign and in legal efforts to halt a few uncontrolled developments without infrastructure here.

15 years ago I found a little paradise Tamarindo and I wonder were my kids will find their paradise if we let uncontrolled development take over. For me sustainable development is development that keeps or even better ads value to a community and in doing so makes it more attractive to live in or to visit. So this development has to enhance the values of the country it occurs in: the cultural, natural and economic values.
