Photo (amk): One of the culprits blocking the main road in Tamarindo?(JFS) Now this is a great way to lower your overhead, occupy prime commercial space and acquire a captivated audience all rolled into one! Choose the narrowest section along the main road, on the curve no less, park irregardless of signs, cones, curb color and traffic, and then setup shop out of the back of your pick-up truck. 

Unfortunately, we need this road too in order to gain entry and exit from town!  Not to mention the fact that only about 1 in 50-people smokes cigars. Where is the big sign on the roof of his truck that advises that his business ...

... endangers not only your health, but the limits of anyone’s patience as well!

But it is important not to forget, that this is the land of the mordida it doesn’t matter what you do, it is how you go about doing it.

All that one needs to do claim ignorance of the law, ask for forgiveness, and pay an eventual fine in cash.

This is a great business plan; optional Business License, Health Permit, no high monthly rent for a storefront and no fooling around with sales taxes.

Some folks think that he adds color to the town while other folks conjure up darker images in their minds as they wait to get by the “Bottleneck Cigar Stop”.

The entrepreneurial (opportunistic) spirit of some people in Costa Rica, will never cease to amaze or infuriate or both.

It sure will be nice when they widen our main road so we can accommodate more street venders like this guy. Which begs the question; if we had bigger/better roads and sufficient parking spaces available, will anything change when things like this are tolerated?
