Welcome and enjoy the features Tamarindowiki (Tw) has to offer for your “interactive” convenience with and inside the Tamarindo community. Tw works for a win-win relationship with the Tamarindo community and their visitors from all over the world. While you present your business on the Tw site and since others do the same you will be part of the overall information which gets presented to the virtual and real visitors of Tamarindo Costa Rica and the surrounding areas We charge $120 per year for Business Members, due on January 1st including all interactive services while the services are free of charge for non profit organizations and private members. If offering Tw services is of interest to you, please contact us. Tw works hand-in-hand with the community for our mutual benefit. “For the community and with the community" = Us for you and you for us. We invite all of you to join us in the Tamarindowiki endeavour. 1. Types of membership We have three types of membership; the last two are 100% free of charge: 1.1 Business Members, TwBM, business members pay nominal fees based upon the level of services that Tw provides. 1.2 Private Members, noted as TwPM, which can put up their own news articles, place classified ads, and enjoy all other features and benefits. (Students are considered being private members even if they would use the Tw services for their “business” reasons) 1.3 Non-Profit members, noted as TwNP, which we encourage to utilize our yellow pages, advertise and announce their upcoming events, activities, fundraisers, etc. all, absolutely free of charge. back to top 2. Tamarindowiki Business Members (TwBM) yearly fees The yearly fee includes all services on Tw like your yellow pages, your events, your gallery, your classifieds etc. But the best on it……you easily can put them "online" on your own once you are logged in using your membership account. We charge $120 per year for Business Members, due on January 1st. If you join during the year, you are charged on a pro-rated basis, ie: join in March; $90 for 9-months, in June; $60 for 6-month, in Sept.; $30 for 3-months, etc. This is the equivalent to only $0.32 per day for your Tw site services, or $10 per month. back to top 
3. Why Tamarindowiki?As many of us know, it is both expensive and difficult for a single website to maintain a high position on the search engines standing alone. A single website is similar to a small shop in the city; it is easily lost in the background. To overcome this difficulty, retail outlets have clustered into suburban malls. Likewise on the internet, multiple websites offering similar information, are grouping together to form larger ”shopping mall sites” if you will, rather than being splattered all over the internet. In this manner multiple sites work together and enjoy a higher ranking on search engines and higher traffic, hence the Tamarindowiki (Tw) website project; Tamarindo news, businesses, information, events and more all in on place; our window for the world. The Tw website has been specifically designed to be this “virtual portal” for Tamarindo. Anyone searching for information on Tamarindo, will find it quickly and conveniently at Tw, and no longer have to sift through dozens of websites to find the information that they require. At Tw in the Yellow Page section, there will be Yellow page sites and lots of other marketing tools which will link to a Business Member’s principal website, be it for hotels, restaurants, rent-a-cars, real estate etc. News from local publications and the international news media will be posted in addition to our own in-house reporting. Visitors to Tw can post their comments and opinions. Tw is akin to a shopping mall; anything and everything that you may want to know about Tamarindo will be in one single, convenient location; Tw “The World’s Window to Us”. Range of application yearly fees 27.5% are calculated to cover the costs having the non profit and private members use the same features on Tw like business members but without any charges or fees. This guarantees that all business members sponsor the publishing needs of the non profit community organizations and those of the private members. The rest is calculated covering the cost of Tw operating and improvement expenses to maintain a high ranked portal site, to expand our features and services, and accordingly will increase your business exposure on the Internet and inside the virtual Tamarindo community site. back to top 5.The Tamarindowiki Web Workers (TwWW) One of our principles is to have a balanced and mutually beneficial relationship with you and/or your business, Tamarindo Wiki (Tw) and our recommended Tamarindo Wiki Web Workers (TwWW). TwWW’s are specially trained and are recommended by Tw to create Yellow page sites, to help compose advertisements and announcements and assist Tw Members with all their needs. TwWW’s get only recommended by Tw if their level of services can meet the high standards of the overall Tamarindo wiki site and if those TwWW’s support non profit organizations “free of charge” with their help on the Tamarindo wiki site. Tw strives to balance commercial viability with the needs of Tw Members:  This Triangle illustrates the principle of working Hand-in-Hand together; all for one & one for all, or more aptly stated “Us for you & You for Us” where Tw works as your host, TwWW’s serve your site needs and you are free to concentrate on your day-to-day business. TwWW charge reasonable fees upon the level of services they offer. TwWW fees can range from US $76 per hour based upon one professional programmer hour to $ 38 for advanced yellow page design down to whatever has been arranged between business members and the recommended TwWW’s. For example, it should take from 2 to 4-hours to make a professional 5-page Yellow Page site advertisement depending on the complexity of the pages and the digital material delivered. back to top 6. Tamarindowiki Banner Ads design If you desire, we can design your banners professionally to your specifications. All you need to do, is to provide us with the text, the digital photos and the logo of your business. Most importantly, we need to know whether you want an internal or external link on your banner. Should you wish to design your own banner, we request that you to deliver your banners via email to us. Please do this turn key corresponding to the sizes we offer for banner ads and not larger than 60 KB per banner. Tamarindowiki Banner Ads fees Note Jan 2008: We have not published a banner price list at this time, as it is not our intention – while we are just lifting off - to sell you something without clearly defined benefits. Once we are fully up and running, our banner publishing prices will follow international standards and correspond to the local market. During this time, we will publish frequently the site visitors statistics at Tw Deep Insights>> permanently updated in Statistics & Facts and Visitors Map with our online statistic tools for your convenience and business planning. Such statistics will define future prices for your business banner advertisements. We want you to see that you will get what you pay for, before selling you something which might not give you a secure return on your investment. Once Again: We say “Thank You to our sponsors” (TwFM) who helped financed the virtual portal to Tamarindo. During our launch phase, Tw is donating free banner ad publishing on the site to help Tamarindo's non-profit organizations APMT ,CEPIA, La Paz School, Surfrider Tamarindo, Saint Mary Church Tamarindo to boost their community services. For a limited time during our opening phase you will only see banners at “A”’ reserved for Non Profit organizations (TwNP) and at “B” from The Tamarindo Wiki founding members (TwFM). Rotation will be equally shared between TwNP and TwFM. back to top 8. Cancellation and Refunds As a TwBM you can cancel your membership with Tw at any time, but at the latest 1-month ahead of a new calendar year which starts on January 1st. If you decide to cancel your TwBM ship during the year, you may do so, but you will not be entitled to a refund. Why can’t we refund?: Like any business, our planned expenses for the year are based upon our projected income (cashflow), and we can not adjust our cash flow during the year, once it is determined in January/Februaury. back to top |
